Three men have been arrested for the murder of a homeless man who was beaten in a Bloomington park.
Police say 56 year old Ronald Smith was found in the 1400 block of West Walnut June 2 bleeding profusely from the head. They determined he had been beaten at nearby O'Neil Park. He was being treated at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center until he died July 3.
The county coroner, Beth Kimmerling, determined the victim died from a bacterial infection he developed after being beating in the abdomen. She also did a toxicology test, but those results haven't come back.
The three arrested are 18 year old Willie Chambers, 18 year old Anthony Davis-Dickson, and 19 year old Tory Washington, all of Bloomington.
