Trial Date Changed for Peoria Murder Suspect

A Marquette Heights man, charged with killing a Peoria nightclub owner and starting a fire after the crime, received a new trial date Friday. 29 year old Bryan Stewart is facing murder, aggravated arson and arson charges for the stabbing death of Todd Scholl whose body was found in a burning storage room on Southwest Perry. Stewart, who claims he acted in self defense, is back in court for a court review June 6th. The judge Friday reset Stewart's trial for July 7th. If convicted, Stewart could face up to 60 years in prison on the murder charge and up to 30 years on the arson charge.
