Wildlife Prairie Park hosted a nationally recognized triathlon.
About 100 competitors biked 15 miles, swam 800 meters and ran four miles.
The triathlon was part of the Xterra Race Circuit and athletes received points based on how they finished.
Organizers say it was also a chance for the state park to show off all it has to offer.
“Not like a road triathlon where the racers expect everything to be in so maintained conditions. We have to, sometimes you have to run over a pothole. Sometimes you have to run over a log and bike over those things. So Wildlife Prairie Park just kind of extenuates that,” said Race Director Laura Bertch
