BLOOMINGTON - People in Bloomington put on their shoes and took a walk to help people who might not be able to.

More than 350 walkers took part in "Walk MS" at Tipton Park Sunday.

Bloomington was one of 11 places in Illinois where people got out to support those battling multiple sclerosis.

The National MS Society hopes to raise nearly three million dollars in Illinois - which will go to research, diagnosis, and treatment for the debilitating disease.

MS Ambassador Ryan Remkus said, "I've been doing it, every year, since 2001. It always chokes me up when I see so many people supporting family and friends that have it. It is amazing."

About 20,000 people in Illinois live with MS.
