They were a part of the eight annual "Muscle on Main" competition in Morton Saturday.
Around 80 lifters battled in everything from a Hummer pull to 200 lb. log lifts.
Although the lifters were competing against each other, organizers say it was really about improving as a weight lifter.
Organizer Dr. Rob Richardson said, "The Competitors are very happy to help and nourish each other through this process. It's not your conventional, you know, 'me versus you' type of thing; it's 'themselves versus themselves', but yet, there is a standing involved."
Organizers say the competition was started eight years ago, because there weren't any strongman competitions in Central Illinois.
