WASHINGTON - Washington delegates were speaking on WGN Radio Monday morning, on the aftermath of November's deadly tornado.
Public officials and business owners joined the "Steve Cochran Show" as WGN Radio 720 went live from Uftring Chevrolet is Washington from 5 to 10 AM.
Many spoke about the recovery process and the members of the community who have been working tirelessly to rebuild.
Those involved were celebrating the progress, but more help is still needed.
"I grew up in a small town and I think it's vitally important to take care of your neighbors,” WGN Radio Host Steve Cochran said. “And we might be three hours away but we're neighbors. We in the media move on too quickly and we're not going to move on quickly with this. We're going to continue to talk about it. There's ten million in Chicagoland as you know and we're going to remind people there's still a lot of work to be done."
"We continue to need volunteers and financial help from people and we're doing great because of folks like WGN," Washington Mayor Gary Manier said.
The Chicago Blackhawks street team stopped by, including hall of famer and team ambassador, Denis Savard.
Fans also had the chance to "Shoot the Puck" for a chance to win prizes.
