MACKINAW - One local winery is putting a fun twist to an old school wine making method.

Mackinaw Valley Vineyard held it's 7th annual Grape Stomp and Harvest Festival Sunday.

People got to compete against one another, stomping grapes to dance music.

Before machines, "grape stomping" was the way people would press grapes and get out the juice before it is fermented.

Vineyard Co-Owner Diane Hahn said, "Now we have modern methods, our presses. that's the kind of things we demonstrate, but it's still a lot of fun, and it amazes me how many people get their feet wet doing this. Our motto for this 'It's fun, it's just good, clean fun'."

The vineyard also held a Lucille Ball look-a-like contest.

The grape stomping scene from the I Love Lucy is considered one of the show's most famous scenes.
