WMBD/WYZZ-TV STAFF - After missing all his off-season workouts because of a knee injury from last season, Brian Urlacher went under the knife on Tuesday after only practicing one week in training camp.
Urlacher back in Bourbonnais, walking normally but taking it easy after his procedure to reduce the swelling in his left knee.
The Bears are optimistic that their middle linebacker will be back for the season opener against the Colts.
Urlacher says the surgery was necessary and the right thing to do.
"Just didn't feel like it was getting any better, so we decided as a team, it would be better to do that. The scope is a 1-2 week recovery, so not a big deal to me. Little different, but I'f I'm going to have something done, lets get it done," said Brian Urlacher.
The Bears play this Saturday in their second preseason game. You can watch it right here on WMBD at 7:00 PM.
