WMBD/WYZZ-TV - CHILLICOTHE, Ill. - IVC made the playoffs for the first time in three years in 2013.
If they make the playoffs this year, it'll come through the rugged Corn Belt Conference. The Grey Ghosts have left the West Central Conference in favor of the Corn Belt, which sent four schools to the playoffs last fall.
"(That league) has a lot bigger schools, more our speed," said IVC senior quarterback Noah Gould of the Corn Belt. "We were one of the bigger schools in the WCC last year. More competition, I say bring it on."
Normal U-High, Bloomington Central Catholic, Pontiac and Mahomet-Seymour represented the eight-team league in the football playoffs in 2013.
"There's a lot of good teams in there but if we go in with the right attitude, they're all beatable," said senior center Chase Dietrich. "As long as we execute."
