WMBD/WYZZ-TV - TREMONT, Ill. - The Turks have a big junior class and a tiny senior class.

They hope it's a combination that will help them bounce back from a 3-6 football season last year.

"It's going to be an advantage and disadvantage," senior lineman Benjamin Digby said of his small class. "We have a pretty tight-knit group of guys, especially the seniors. We have good juniors in leadership roles so it shouldn't hurt us too much."

The Turks are trying to break a trend that has seen them miss the playoffs in five of the past six years.

"At the beginning of the year, it's going to be a lot of picking people up, making sure they know it's OK to make mistakes and get better from it," said senior Cole Lennington.

Tremont opens the season at El Paso-Gridley on Aug.  29.
