WMBD/WYZZ-TV STAFF - MINNEAPOLIS, MN - The Bears lost Jay Cutler to an injury in the fourth quarter, and couldn't stage a comeback as Minnesota topped the Bears 21-14 at Mall of America Field.
The Bears defeated Minnesota two weeks ago, 28-0, but this Vikings team got off to an early start. Adrian Peterson had two touchdowns in the first quarter, and the Bears offensive couldn't get rolling.
Jay Cutler connected with Alshon Jeffery on a 23 yard TD pass with 1:52 left in the second half. Cutler also threw two interceptions, the second which was returned 55 yards by rookie Harrison Smith for a score.
After Cutler exited with a neck injury late, Jason Campbell engineered a 10-play, 76-yard drive capped by a 16-yard TD pass to Marshall, making it 21-14 with 1:48 left in the fourth quarter. After the drive, the Bears couldn't recover the on-side kick.
The loss is the Bears fourth in its last five games. They host Green Bay next Sunday.
