DES MOINES, Iowa - Richard Carter made a spinning floater with 14 seconds remaining for a 3-point lead, then made two free throws with 1.2 seconds left, lifting Drake (15-15, 6-12) to a 71-66 win against visiting Bradley (12-19, 7-11 MVC) in the regular-season finale for both teams Saturday afternoon at the Knapp Center.

Aaron Hawley scored 15 of his game-high 23 points in the second half, leading the Bulldogs back from a 37-26 halftime deficit. Carter added 18 pints and Jacob Enevold chipped in 11 off the Drake bench.

Walt Lemon Jr. led the Braves with 20 points, moving into eighth place on Bradley's all-time scoring list and 41st on the Missouri Valley Conference charts with 1,697 career points. Lemon also added four assists and five steals. Omari Grier scored 15 points and Tyshon Pickett just missed his second straight double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds.

Auston Barnes got off a tying attempt with a left wing 3-pointer on Bradley's final possession, but Carter collected the rebound and was fouled to set the final score.

The Braves will try to regroup during next week's Missouri Valley Conference Men's Basketball Championship in St. Louis, where they will face Loyola Chicago in the nightcap (8:30 p.m.) of first-round action Thursday at the Scottrade Center.
