Eagles Ready to Fly To Dream Game

Dunlap Players Dreamed Of State Title

DUNLAP, Ill. - When Dunlap plays Chicago Philllips in the Class 5A state football title game on Saturday, it will be a dream game for most of teh eagles.

Dunlap (13-0) will be making it's first ever appearance in a title game.

"I dreamed about it, I think it's always a football player's dream to play for a state championship team," said Dunlap senior Charlie Mangieri. "But in my high school career, I never thought we'd be in the state championship."

Dunlap beat Washington, 21-0, last Saturday to secure a trip to DeKalb.

"When I was younger, my dream was to just play on teh varsity football team and be the captain and be a part of it," said senior Luke Bennyhoff. "I never dreamed of playing in the state championship. It's finally come. I've played football all my life and I was hoping it would be possible. We finally did it."
