PEORIA - Soccer season at Peoria Christian isn't just about kicking the ball around.

"One great thing about PCS is we want to affect the world for Christ," said Cory Hynek, Peoria Christian Head Coach. Not just locally. "The opportunities for PCS kids to go on mission trips."

For Christine Dentino, Megan Ulm and Katie Walton, taking time away from the game is just as important.

"I think my faith is the most important thing in my life, I try to implement that in soccer and on field," said Christine Dentino, Peoria Christian Senior.  Mission trips is another way of doing that."

Going to far away places like Russia, Guatemala, Korea, Columbia to help the less fortunate.

"Seeing people in need and wanting to help them," said Megan Ulm, Peoria Christian Senior. "I love helping people.  Its not something you decide on your own. Sort of in a way it is, but you know it in your heart that is what you want to do."

"We had teaching partners and went to different schools," said Dentino. "Teach English classes and really interact with them."

"Sacrifice my sleep, favorite foods for a week, sleep on the floor and love on other people for a week," said Katie Walton, Peoria Christian Senior.

"It's really helped us on the soccer field.  You see them caring for each other," said Hynek. "Trips like that you really get to know each other.  You form a bond that will last a lifetime."
