WMBD/WYZZ-TV - PEORIA, Ill - Motivational speaking is something Carla McGhee loves.

The Manual High School grad got the chance to combine two of her loves, basketball and speaking, on the first day of the Mitchell "JJ" Anderson/Dana Davis All-Star Basketball Camp at the Civic Center Monday.

"My message today was: if you're not winning, you're losing. Losing is not taking advantage of being a good student in school, not taking advantage of being a part of camps and giving it everything you've got, not taking advantage of educators that want you to knock down their doors," said McGhee.

McGhee starred at the University of Tennessee and won a gold medal with the 1996 U.S. Women's Basketball Team. She played in the WNBA and then went into college coaching.

McGhee now owns a consulting company in Atlanta.
