WMBD/WYZZ-TV STAFF - CHAMPAIGN, IL - IN his first year as head coach, Tim Beckman has been very secretive about his playbook.

On Saturday, fans finally got to take a peek inside it in the annual Spring football game.

The Blue team topped the Orange 13-12.

Reilly O'Toole threw for the game's only passing TD, while Nate Scheelhaase rushed for another touchdown.  Coach Beckman said he was impressed by his team.

"The challenge for this football team is the depth issue that I've been alking about all spring.  That came evident today as the teams were split up.  Different guys were throwing the football too.  If you're going to be successfull, gotta have depth," said Tim Beckman, Head Football Coach at Illinois.

Illinois starts the season September 1st.
