WMBD/WYZZ-TV - PEORIA, Ill. -- It's not the kind of encore of Austin Kirk wanted.
On July 4 he threw a no-hitter, on July 14 he lasted only four innings.
Lake County scored six runs in the first three innings and cruised to a 10-2 win over the Chiefs Thursday night at O'Brien Field.
The Captains an early lead by scoring three times in the first inning. They never looked back in roughing up Kirk in the lefty's first home start since tossing a no-hitter on Independence Day.
With one out, LeVon Washington, Jordan Casas and Giovanny Urshela all singled. Washington scored on Urshela's hit.
Ronny Rodriguez followed with a two-out, two-run double into left-center field that made it 3-0.
