WMBD/WYZZ-TV - PEORIA, Ill. - They played to a 1-1 draw last month but that won't happen Friday.
Notre Dame and Dunlap will meet for the Class 2A East Moline sectional title. The Eagles feel like they let the first meeting with the Irish get away from them when PND scored with 0:44 remaining to earn the tie.
"It gives us confidence. we know we can play with them but we've always known we can play with them," said Dunlap junior Allison Verville. "So it just comes down to coming to play that night."
Dunlap is playing for its first sectional title, Notre Dame is looking for its first in four years.
"It should be a really good game and the hardest working team is goign to come out with the win," said Notre Dame senior Elizabeth Mills. "I haven't won that and I don't think anyone on this team has won it. So we really want to come out and win that."
Game time is 5 p.m.
