WMBD/WYZZ-TV - NORMAL, Ill. - He feels like he's going back to school already.
Truth is, Arion Worthman has been in school all summer. Since transferring from University High School, the standout quarterback has been taking a crash course in the football program at Normal West.
So far, so good.
"it's been a really good transition, I mean, the guys we are all bonding well," said Worthman. "I know a lot of guys from junior high and elementary school, so it's been great."
The senior, who helped guide U-High to the state quarterfinals last fall, is leading the West offense in summer 7-on-7 tournaments.
"The learning curve has been cut down fast. Coach (Kevin) Braucht has really been helping me push it there with the learning, learning the offense, the nuances of the offense and it's really starting to come together," said Worthman.
Fall prep football practice begins Aug. 11.
