And college coaches are already taking note of his game.
After three years in Kentucky, AJ Youngman has moved back to central Illinois with his family. Jim Youngman, the former varsity basketball coach at Metamora, has moved his family to Morton.
the sophomore is spending this week as a high school assistant at Curley "Boo" Johnson's camp. He's also spending time sifting through Division I basketball offers.
"I try to ignore that stuff, as much as I can because you can't do that all the time," said the 6-5 guard. "I try to focus on getting better everyday. Taking it step by step."
Youngman has scholarship offers from Boston College, West Virginia, Northern Kentucky and Portland. Illinois and Bradley are local schools that have shown interest in him.
