By: Donnie Tillman

DECATUR - One of Central Illinois' largest companies is headed North.

Archer Daniels Midland announced Wednesday morning it's moving global headquarters from Decatur to Chicago.

It says 50-75 employees will be relocated to the new center.

ADM announced earlier this year it wanted a better location to allow for better international access.

This year, the company asked lawmakers in Springfield for tax incentives, ranging between 20-30 million dollars over 20 years, to help keep operations within the state.

ADM says it will evaluate an alternative site for its new information technology and support center.

It says it will consider several states and house about 100 IT jobs.
