NORMAL - Amtrak customers in the Twin Cities experienced a hectic morning, trying to catch the train.

Several trains in Wisconsin, Michigan and Illinois canceled their routes because of the cold temperatures and track closures.

The waiting room at uptown station in Normal was filled this morning with travelers, waiting to catch a ride on the rails.

The first set of trains was expected to leave around 9:45 a.m,, but departure time was pushed into the early afternoon.

It had some reconsidering their options, while others rolled with the punches.

"My dad was freaking out because he was like, 'The weather is so bad,' and 'You guys shouldn't book things in the winter', and we couldn't help that today is today,” said Kellie Nolan of Bloomington.

Cancellations included trips that run between Quincy, Carbondale, St. Louis and Chicago. For the travel updates, click here.
