Arrest in Peoria South Side Double Shooting
A 16 year old Peorian was arrested for attempted murder late Friday in connection with what police call a gang related double shooting Thursday night on the city's south side, the second shooting in that part of town in just a few hours. According to a police news release Friday night, after interviewing the 16 year old suspect, it was determined he shot the 14 year old victim after a confrontation regarding gang affiliation near Grinnell and Folkers. The suspect was taken to the Juvenile Detention Center Friday night. Additionally, police believe a second suspect is responsible for the shooting of the second, 15 year old victim. One victim remained hospitalized Friday night while the second victim has been released from the hospital. The case remains under investigation.
