PEORIA - Residents now have a direct line to help police stop a rash of home invasions.
A home invasion hot-line is available through the Peoria Police Department. The number is (309) 494 -8288.
It is in response to three home invasions in the area within recent months. Anyone with information is asked to call the hotline and calls will be returned as soon as possible.
So far, no arrests have been made. A special task force is working on the case. Authorities hope the hotline will be a clear line of communication between police and concerned citizens.
"Any officer, any detective anybody should receive a phone call or messages left, it can be forwarded to one central number that will be checked to run down leads, tips and concerns,” said Capt. Mike Eddlemon.
For immediate police response, residents are urged to call 911.
