BLOOMINGTON - The United States Marine Corps has officially launched its annual campaign.
The Toys for Tots kick off took place Sunday at the VFW Hall in Bloomington.
Dozens participated in the special event, which gives families in need gifts for their children just in time for Christmas.
Organizers say the holidays are a magical time, and every child deserves a happy memory this season.
They’re asking for donations of new, unwrapped toys.
The goal this year is to collect 22,000 items for McLean County kids.
"All of our toys stay in McLean County and all the money that is raised stays in McLean County so it's a really good program and we're asking the community to really chip in like they have in the past,” said Toys for Tots Director Troy Zeigler.
The McLean County Toys for Tots campaign is in its 21st year.
This year's theme is "Be Inspired."
