Big Brother Big Sisters Raising Money for Mentorship Program

Working toward a $12,000 goal...
PEORIA - Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Illinois is raising money for 12 “littles” this holiday season and the organization still has a ways to go to meet its fundraising goal.

The organization is featuring 12 "littles" leading up to Christmas. It's an effort to find caring adult mentors to pair them up with. Sixteen people have already volunteered to fill that role.

Big Brothers Big Sisters says it also needs money to fund things like background checks and case managers.
"So we're going to be able to match all these littles with big brothers or big sisters here in the next few weeks. What we need help is with financial support. So any amount anyone can give coming up on Christmas here would be really important to the success of these kids and the success of Big Brothers Big Sisters," said Blake Long, a representative at the organization’s Central Illinois Chapter.
