Boot Camp: New Sheriff in Morton

Eric Lyons takes over the Head Coaching duties for the Potters this season.

MORTON - The Potters have a new coach this year.

Former U-High Assistant Eric Lyons is now leading the Morton football team. Lyons would like to get the Potters back to the playoffs after they missed the postseason last fall.

"Really being wanting that opportunity as far as working with the kids.  It's all I really ever wanted to do," said Eric Lyons, Morton Head Coach.  "So it's been a lot of fun.  Guys have been very accepting of new ideas we had and bought in the ideas we are trying to sell.

"I think that this team personally is the hardest working team I've ever been a part of," said Reid Butler, Morton Senior Cornerback.  "I know that nobody has given us much credit going into the season. After all summer stuff we've done this year, we won't be a team that people walk over."

Morton plays U-High on Friday.
