WMBD/WYZZ-TV - TOULON, Ill. - Consecutive trips to the state semifinals is an impressive accomplishment.
But Stark County wants more. The Rebels have 64 players out for football this fall, the most since Jade Noard became head coach in 2005.
"We want to continue with the success we've had. We want to challenge for the conference title," said Noard. "We know we have tough teams in our conference then when playoff time comes, our kids seem to step it up and get in gear at that time. We hope to see that from them again."
The Rebels return four starters on offense, five on defense from last year's 10-3 team. All-State quarterback Justin Koehler will be repalced by senior Ryne Daum.
The Rebels open the season at home Aug. 30 against arch rival Princeville.
