Bradley Students Go Homeless For One Night

Dozens of Bradley University students spent the night under cardboard boxes.
PEORIA – Dozens of Bradley University students are going homeless for Habitat for Humanity.

The annual Shack-A-Thon event took place Wednesday evening through this morning.

Campus organizations donated to the cause to have a spot on the quad where they built a makeshift home and slept for the night.

Katherine Emrich, the BU Habitat for Humanity President, said it is a way for the group to raise awareness and money. “We're building on a house in Peoria now so all the funds we raise will be donated to her house.”

Bradley students are helping the Peoria chapter of Habitat for Humanity build a home locally. Students hope this event will raise around $1,000.
