Bremer’s New Diamonds Environmentally, Socially Responsible

PEORIA - It isn't every day people can drive down university for a glimpse at millions of dollars in diamonds, but that is the case for the next two days at Bremer Jewlery in Peoria.

Both the Peoria and Bloomington locations are launching the sale of Forevermark diamonds.
Jeffrey Skaret is a representative of the brand, which is part of De Beers group of companies. He said the precious stones are mined responsibly thinking about the environment and community they come from.

Skaret said less than one percent of diamonds meet the strict criteria to be deemed ‘Forevermark.’

"Mine to the highest environmental standards, but we're also giving back to the community not only in the sense of healthcare, education and HIV prevention and things like that for our workers,  but really for the community that surrounds our mines," Skaret said.

The diamonds on display aren't just to look at. At the Peoria store guests can try on a 13.44 carat diamond ring worth $1 million.
