Caterpillar's board voted Wednesday to raise its dividend rate 13 percent, or six cents per share payable August 20th. Caterpillar CEO Doug Oberhelman said it's part of the company's strategy to deliver stockholder return in the upper 25 percent of the S and P 500. Oberhelman says Caterpillar has paid higher dividends for 19 years in a row. The company has paid a cash dividend every year since 1925 and paid a dividend every quarter since November 1933.
