WMBD/WYZZ-TV - PEORIA, Ill. - He robbed Wisconsin of a home run then scored the game-winner in extra innings.
Michael Swinson raced home in the twelfth inning following a pair of errors on the same play to give the Peoria Chiefs a 4-3 win over Wisconsin at Dozer Park Monday afternoon.
Without recording an out, the Chiefs erased a two-run deficit to win the finale of a ten-game home stand. Trailing 3-1, Breyvic Valera led off with a single and Ildemaro Vargas followed with a walk.
Swinson singled to center to score Valera and move Vargas to third. Jacob Wilson singled to tie the game as Vargas scored and Swinson bolted for third.
The throw from Wisconsin centerfielder yrone Taylor hit Swinson in the back as he slid into third and trickled up the third base line. Thirdbaseman Jose Sermo picked up the ball throw down to second as Wilson attempted to move up a base.
But the throw sailed into the outfield allowing Swinson to trot home with the game winnig run.
