CityLink Kicks Off Stuff-A-Bus Campaign

WMBD's Bob Larson emcees.
PEORIA - CityLink is teaming up with local organizations to help put an end to hunger.

Since the 1987, CityLink, Kroger and the Peoria Friendship House have joined together in an effort to stuff a CityLink bus.

Wednesday’s kick-off luncheon helps sponsor the event. Illinois Deputy Governor, Cristal Thomas said drives like this are more important than ever because of the changing face of hunger.

"We see more people in suburban areas, areas where we hadn't really seen a lot of hunger and a lot of need before. And it's not just the homeless it's not just the people without jobs. We're seeing more of the working poor actually coming forward," Thomas said.

People can start donating food on October 26, through the month of November. People can participate at any Peoria Kroger.
