Community Center Still in Need of Food

BLOOMINGTON - This past week two Twin Cities schools have been competing in an all out food fight to help the needy, but organizers say the pantry shelves could use a little more love.

Bloomington District 87 and McLean County Unit 5 students were battling to collect the most food. All items are going to the Western Avenue Community Center food pantry, which works to help families in need.

Friday night at the two schools football showdown, organizers announced that Normal Community High School had collected the most food. But -numbers are way down from how much food was collected last year.

The Western Avenue Community Center said it will continue to accept donation in order to help it through the year. To find out more, click here
