BLOOMINGTON – Dozens of businesses were represented Wednesday at Bloomington’s Chateau for a Domestic Violence conference to wrap up a month- long awareness campaign.
Research shows that nearly one in every four Americans personally knows someone who was or is a victim of domestic violence.

Organizers say the community stepped up during a month of events and fund raisers.
"So today we're talking about how to be culturally aware, diversity, when working with our clients. How to make sure that we are open to them, working with them despite the different cultures, ethnic groups they bring," said guest speaker Cheryl Bristor-Wilson from CDB & Associates.
The campaign encourages people to be an engaged bystander, someone who intervenes when they see or hear behaviors that promote violence.
