Mark Zalcman formally announced Monday he will be seeking the Illinois House 73rd District seat held by Peorian Dave Leitch for 25 years. Zalcman, whose campaign is headquartered in Chillicothe, says he will emphasize bringing economic prosperity back to Central Illinois and ending wasteful spending in state government. According to the news release, Zalcman promises to be a strong voice for Christian positions such as a vigorous pro life/anti abortion stance protecting basic expressions of religious freedom in public places. Zalcman says he will be a zealous advocate for gun owners. The primary is set for March 18,2014. Zalcman is an attorney who has been practicing family and criminal law in the Peoria area for 10 years, including a stint as a prosecutor in the Peoria County State's Attorney's office from 2003 -2004.
