PEORIA - The deadline is tomorrow to register for the Affordable Care Act and local signups are booming.
Get Covered America is making one last big push to register anyone looking for health insurance.
Local drives are showing high demand.
Waiting list and lines formed at Mount Olive Baptist Church for potential signees.
Figures released from the White House say more than six million people have already signed up.
There is a penalty for anyone without insurance and with the next enrollment period not until November, officials say it's now or never.
“The most important thing is that financial assistance is available. 6 out of 10 Americans are finding plans for under $100 per month. People are really surprised by how much money they have been able to save and the quality of the affordable care” says volunteer Jimmy Dahman.
If you do not have insurance and would like assistance in signing up, you can visit your local health department or call 1-866-311-1119.
