A former state employee, who sued State Treasurer Dan Rutherford for alleged political wrongdoing and sexual harassment, added the Mitt Romney presidential campaign to the case Thursday. According to the Chicago Tribune, Ed Michalowski refiled his 27 page lawsuit after the original lawsuit was tossed out by a federal judge on a technicality. The new amended lawsuit names the Romney campaign for which Rutherford served as Illinois chairman. The new suit alleges a racketeering conspiracy to get Rutherford elected to a higher office. Many political observers believe the initial lawsuit, filed before the primary, scuttled Rutherford's chances of becoming governor.
