A Bartonville village trustee, who was named last year in a five count indictment, was found NOT GUILTY Wednesday. A Peoria jury , after a two day trial, found 42 year old Scott Helms NOT GUILTY on arson and aggravated arson while three other charges were dismissed. Those charges stemmed from a fire at the Pennsylvania Terrace Apartments last July. Helms maintained his innocence and his current term on the village board runs through May of 2017.
