WMBD/WYZZ-TV - PEORIA, Ill. - This weekend Central Catholic plays in the state basketball tournament for the fifth time in school history.
But the Saints are guaranteed to win the school's first boys basketball state trophy.
"It's a wild experience. Just coming here," said Central Catholic senior Elliot Hoerdemann. "It's been a dream of mine since I was a little kid. It's unreal -- the whole experience."
The Saints (25-6) face Providence St Mel (25-6) in the Class 2A state semifinals Friday at 8:15 p.m. at Carver Arena.
