WMBD/WYZZ-TV STAFF - BOURBONNAIS, IL - The fans have always flocked to Bourbonnais in July and August. Thursday it was more of the same.
"Bears fans, I love them. Great fans," said Alshon Jeffery, Bears Wide Receiver.
The Bears off-season moves more than raised the talent-level on this team. It raised fan expectations considerably.
"This is the best," said Clayton Wange, Bears Fan. "Better than the '85 Bears? The same as '85 Bears which is very good."
Never mind that the Bears play in one of the toughest divisions in the NFL with the Packers and the Lions. The fans say bring them on.
"The Packers, they don't stand a chance this year."
"We're gonna whip the Packers."
The Bears players and coaches won't so much as mention the Super Bowl right now. They're reluctant to discuss their goals at all...other than to say that their goal is always to win the division. But they know this team has the potential to be right up there with the NFL's elite. They just have to prove it.
"We've got a lot of weapons especially on the outside and a lot of guys in there that can do some stuff and move the ball," said Matt Forte, Bears Running Back. "Just like Jay is excited about it, I'm just as excited."
