PEORIA - One local company is helping Easter Seals help the children who need it most.
Ameren Illinois presented Easter Seals with a check for $35,000 to support an autism diagnostic clinic.
The clinic delivers more than 35 percent of all clinical A.S.D. evaluations in Illinois.
The money will help doctors give accurate evaluations of children, so that they can receive the appropriate school and community services.
"It is really an opportunity to provide a comprehensive evaluation for autism for children who are suspected of having autism," said Jim Runyon, Easter Seals Vice President
Easter Seals says one out of every 78 children in the United States has Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Since 2003, Easter Seals has helped more than 1,300 children in 48 counties in Illinois.
