Bloomington Flex Expect to Play in 2015

BLOOMINGTON - After being suspended from the Premier Basketball League, the Bloomington Flex still expects to play basketball at the US Cellular Coliseum next year
BLOOMINGTON - After being suspended from the Premier Basketball League, the Bloomington Flex still expects to play basketball at the US Cellular Coliseum next year, according to team president Scott Henderson.

In a statement the league cited an "inability and unwillingness to play in the championship series" as reasons for the suspension of the Flex. The league had canceled its first round of the playoffs and moved straight to the finals, which were set to start on Sunday in Rochester, New York
.
Flex officials say the team had a "financial commitment, as well as a commitment to our community" to play Friday and Sunday at home and were then suspended for the playoffs and next year.

The two-time defending champions of the PBL still expect to play next year. Henderson says the success of first time coach AJ Guyton should mean plenty of opportunities for him and the franchise in the future.

"Bloomington is a very loyal place. It really is,” said Henderson. “I don't want this to be a reflection on anything they did or we did or anybody did. This was a choice, and if we come back, it'll be bigger and better than ever.”

The team will still play its regular season finale against the Chicago Fury Friday at the Coliseum.
