BLOOMINGTON - A Bloomington man hopes his love of wildlife will help launch a new career phase.

Kent Jarrett started a photography company with his son, Matt about five years ago. He did a lot of weddings, but he wanted to marry his love of the outdoors with his skills.

He's providing artwork for CI Shooting Sports and is also assembling a 14 photo wildlife calendar. Jarrett says the vast majority of his photos are from around McLean County, with a couple others from the Smoky Mountains.

"Going up and down, up and down over those hills, looking for this bear den, and all of sudden, I came up over this hill and there she was with three cubs, and she clearly let me know that I was inside the boundaries and she did a mock charge and I slowly backed away,” said Jarrett.

Jarrett says he's invested thousands of dollars in equipment and is hoping to break even on the project. If you're interested in seeing some of Jarrett’s work, please click here.
