Bloomington Teen Pleads NOT GUILTY to Indictment

A Bloomington teenager, indicted for allegedly permitting a party in which alcohol was allegedly consumed which, police believe, is tied to a fatal accident, pleaded NOT GUILTY Friday. 19 year old Cody Helton was charged with unauthorized permitting of a residence. Authorities claim Helton allowed underage drinking at a party. later, a single car accident left former Unit 5 student Peyton Scheuermann of Normal dead. The driver of that car, 19 year old Garrett Peterson of Normal is now charged with aggravated DUI and consumption of liquor by a minor. Peterson is back in court March while while Helton, who is free on bond, is back in court April 18th.
