Bloomington Woman Pleads NOT GUILTY to Att. Murder

A Bloomington woman, indicted by the grand jury for allegedly attempting to kill her newborn baby just moments after birth, pleaded NOT GUILTY Friday. 37 year old Tonya McKee, who lived at Home Sweet Home Ministries Mission, is facing one count of attempted murder for allegedly attempting to abort her baby. Police say she gave birth at the shelter last month and the baby was found submerged in a toilet alive. Prosecutors say McKee first told medical staff she didn't know she had given birth, later admitting she had given birth and heard the baby crying. McKee, whose being held on a half million dollar bond, is due in court November 2nd.
