Body Found in Rural LeRoy Identified

McLean County Sheriff's Office is investigating
LEROY - The McLean County Sheriff's department is asking for the public's help after a body is found early Sunday morning.
The individual was found on the side of 2600 East Road near 1000 North Road in rural LeRoy just before 3 O'clock.
The male was found unresponsive on the LeRoy-Lexington Blacktop and was transported to OSF Saint Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington, where he was pronounced dead.
The McLean County Coronor says he is 26 years old and the family is being notified.
An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.
The police are asking anyone who was in the area between 2 and 4 Sunday morning to please call the McLean County Sheriff's office at (309) 888-4940.
UPDATE - The McLean County Coroner reports the body found in rural LeRoy is of 26-year-old Blaine Umstattd. Preliminary autopsy results indicate Umstattd died of head injuries as a result of being struck by a vehicle. Initial information suggests Umstattd was walking home after spending the day with family in LeRoy when he was hit. The investigation is ongoing.
