Carrollton Edges Illini Central at State

WMBD/WYZZ-TV - PEORIA, Ill. -- Joey Coonrod scord 15 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead Carrollton to a 45-44 win over Illini Central in the class 1A state semifinals Friday at Carver Arena.

Coonrod's free throw with :10 remaining was the difference in the game. The Hawks (30-4) will play Woodlawn in the state title game Saturday.

Illini Central, making its first state appearance, was erased a 12-point first-half deficit and tied the game in the fourth quarter. Jared Entwistle's 15 points led the Cougars (17-13), who will play North Shore Country Day for third place Saturday.
