NORMAL - The Children's Discovery Museum is getting a big boost to its programming.

CDM announced it is receiving an $80,000 grant from PNC to help with operations. That means the museum will now be able to go into local schools and present different programming.

It's the second time for the partnership, and museum officials say it will mean a lot more chances for families to learn together and on field trips.

"Seeing the excitement on the children's faces when we come to their classrooms and see the things that they're learning through our hands on experiences that we can take out to them are what I enjoy the most,” said Erin Wiese-Reichert, early childhood education director.

The museum hopes to start using the grant money this summer, but should see its greatest effects, starting in the fall.
