PEORIA - The 25th annual Central Illinois Auto Show kicks off Friday.
Car dealers from all over the area are at the Peoria Civic Center this weekend, showing off the latest models.
More than 300 vehicles are on display.
Iconic television and movie characters like SpongeBob SquarePants and Captain America are available for meet and greets to entertain the kids.
The Secretary of State’s office will also be in available for drivers' license, ID card, and vehicle sticker updates.
Some dealers say the warmer spring weather inspires people to look for a new set of wheels.
“We’re going into spring. People get excited about cars,” Jim Sherer of Sherer Mazda says. “We got convertibles, performance cars—you aren’t worried about running into a mound of snow. It’s good to come, start looking for your new car.”
The Auto Show is open on Saturday from 11 A.M. to 8 P.M. and Sunday from 11 A.M. to 5 P.M.
Tickets are $5 for those 16 and older.
